DONOR FUNDED OVERSEAS SCHOLARSHIPS

Donor Funded Overseas Scholarships

These are foreign government funded bilateral or unilateral scholarships made available for Fijians for overseas studies which are either fully or partially administered by TSLS. Unilateral Scholarships are those where 100% of all cost are borne by the Donor Funding Agency. Bilateral Scholarships, are those where there is cost sharing between Donor Agencies and The Fijian Government.

In most cases, TSLS’s role in these donor funded overseas scholarships includes advertising the awards, screening the applications, shortlisting the successful applicants, making recommendations and bonding the awardees with the Fijian Government. For all donor-funded scholarships, the criteria laid down by the donor agency will be followed for selection. Some examples of donor funded scholarships currently administered by TSLS include the Cuban Government Scholarships, Chinese Government Scholarships, Commonwealth New Zealand, UK Commonwealth Scholarships and Georgian Government Scholarships.

With effect from 1st August 2020 donor funded bilateral scholarhship is suspended till further notice.
