With effect from 1st August 2020 donor funded bilateral scholarhship is suspended till further notice. 

These are limited number of full scholarships only for National Toppers based on Year 13 or Equivalent Foundation Studies results in a year preceding the award year and are ranked as National Toppers in their applied priority areas of study and wish to pursue undergraduate higher education outside in one of the priority areas which is not offered locally and will be reviewed from time to time and on a needs basis.
Limited number of Scholarships for overseas studies may be awarded each year. The exact number of overseas awards will be determined by the Board and the Board may or may not grants overseas awards on annual basis.

Qualifying Institutions
Students can produce to TSLS offer letters for a program which is in the Fijian Government’s priority area and must not be offered or its equivalence is not offered at any locally eligible Higher Education Institute. Preference will be given for studies in a country which is cost effective.
  1. Applicants must be Fijian Citizens.
  2. Applicants must be either in Year 13 or Equivalent Foundation Studies in a year before the award year.
  3. Applicants must be ranked as a National Topper in the applied priority area.
  4. Applicant's choice of priority area or its equivalence should not be offered in Fiji.
  5. Applicants must fill one NTS application form only and list three choices in the order of priority from the most preferred to the least preferred choice.
  6. Students must attach/produce the offer letter from the overseas institution. TSLS will not facilitate this.
  7. The chosen program and institution must be accredited by a professional educational body.
The Scholarship privileges differ based on the country of studies. The current privileges by country are as follows:

The Board reserves the right the review the above rates at any time.
All Visa, Insurance, Excess Baggage and any other costs will be borne by the applicants.

Towards the end of each High School academic year, the Board shall publish in the local media, the priority areas that will be given consideration.
Applicants will be invited to apply for the available scholarships.
Application Requirements
To be considered for a NTS Local Scholarship Award, eligible applicants must complete an application form and submit it to TSLS by the due date for each year.
The application must include:
  1. A completed application form (TSLS 01)
  2. An official academic transcript for Year 12 and 13 or equivalent Foundation Studies including GPA.(To be submitted as soon as the results are out).
  3. Offer letter from the Higher Education Institute.(To be submitted before an offer is made from TSLS).
  4. Original Birth Certificate
  5. Students TIN Letter/FRCA-FNPF Joint Card
  6. 2 recent Passport Size Photos
  Incomplete Applications will not be considered.
  All photociped documents must be certified by an authorised person.

 2. Fill it out completely electronically, then “submit”. Note that the application requires a signature. You may provide an electronic signature.

 Submitting a completed application package does not guarantee approval.
  1. The Scholarship Committee shall be responsible for assessment of applications against the set criteria.
  2. This committee may seek any further information to substantiate claims made by the applicant.
  3. All applicants are responsible for gaining acceptance into institutions. Fee structures from the institution must accompany each application form.
  4. TSLS receives large number of extremely high scoring candidates for scholarships. Due to the outstanding quality of TSLS’s applicant pool, TSLS may not be able to offer scholarship funding to all high scoring applicants.
  5. All scholarship application will go through an extensive review and TSLS’s scholarship decision shall be final and cannot be appealed.
  6. Official indication of being granted an award is the receipt of the Confirmation of the award letter from the Chairperson/Chief Executive Officers or any authorised officer of TSLS.
  1. All scholarships offered must be accepted within 14 days after the date posted on the award notification (email or letter).
  2. All awards not accepted by this deadline will be cancelled and offered to another deserving Fijian student.
  3. To accept the awards students must sign and return the offer letter to TSLS.
